The Museum of Art and Industry offers a residency that will take place over two years (2024 and 2025). This residency is part of the cultural development of the museum and its interest in the industrial history of the territory.
This residency is also part of the restitution of the impact of industrial history on the territory.
The residency is offered to an artist photographer to initiate or pursue a personal research.
The residence will be divided into two phases:
- 2024: 100% of the residency is devoted to research.
- 2025: 100% of the residency is devoted to Artistic and Cultural Education (EAC) actions in the form of practice workshops, public presentations, conferences, workshops with students of the School of Fine Arts,
interventions within social associative structures, interventions with individual audiences (all ages), interventions with young people (school time and out of school time).
- March 2024: launch call for residency project
- April 2024: selection of artists. The selection committee (composed of Marie-Caroline Janand, director of the Museums of Saint-Étienne; Martine Dancer, Honorary Chief Curator; Nathalie Siewierski, Head of the Mediation Unit; Gaëlle Rivière,
In charge of photographic collections) will examine all applications.
It will select artists who meet the level of artistic and educational requirement necessary for the success of a residency. These artists must have exercised their professional activity in the field concerned for at least 3 years.
- Between May and December 2024: research residency.
- Between January and December 2025: artistic and cultural education residency.
